Hovnatanyan Family
The Hovnatanian or Yovnatanian (in Armenian Հովնատանյան) are a dynasty of Armenian painters, spanning the second half of the seventeenth to the nineteenth century in five generations. They distinguished themselves by achieving frescoes in various churches of Eastern Armenia, including the Cathedral of Etchmiadzin, the seat of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and portraits of senior Armenian society of time.
