Еванðеље по Матеју 26:36-39

36Исус дође с ученицима у маслиник назван Гетсемани те рече ученицима: 'Седите овде док се ја одем помолити!'

37Поведе са собом Петра и обојицу Зеведејевих синова. Обузму га тескоба и жалост.

38Тада им рече: 'Душа ми је насмрт схрвана тугом. Останите овде и бдите са мном. '

39Оде мало даље и падне ничице молећи се: 'Оче мој! Ако је могуће, поштеди ме ове чаше! Ипак, нека буде по твојој, а не по мојој вољи. '

Đura Jakšić is a symbol of Serbian Romantic literature and painting.The question of whether he was failed natural artistic talent or whether he remained an incomplete great poet does not abate.He was, in fact, a strong creative figure who was contiunally interweaving the beuaty of words and brush strokes, an undividable creator who as an author used words to colourfully describe people and events, while as a painter vividly and convincingly told a story of the contents of his pictures.
